A society established on October 12, 1976 to contribute to the progress of static electricity knowledge and technology from interdisciplinary and international viewpoints. This has enabled the frontiers of knowledge in this field to be extended through the collaboration of academics and engineers working in the field of static electricity.

Provides an examination service for machines and apparatus to be used in dangerous locations to reduce hazards as stipulated in the Industrial Safety and Health Law, as well as providing a testing service for chemical substances to determine their explosion risks and electrostatic properties. Also conducts contract research for related organizations, provides technical guidance on safety technologies, and holds safety seminars.

 
Started "Paper and Plastic," the only specialized magazine for the converting industry, in May 1973 and retitled the magazine "Convertech" (a word derived from ‘converting technology’) in April 1985 in consideration of the expansion of base materials. Continues to provide information on technologies, materials, and products of interest to converters and related users.
